Leaping In To The Liminal

As lifelong learners, we will repeatedly find ourselves in the liminal space.
According to Land, Meyer and Baillie, 'all journeys begin with leaving that familiar space and crossing over into the riskier space beyond the threshold.'
In knowing we are being transformed while in the liminal space, we can either resist growth and change due to the discomfort we experience, or we can leap on in an embrace the adventure of our learning journey, trusting in the process.
Understanding the transformative power of the liminal space can reduce the trepidation we might feel when embarking on a new learning journey, so as educators, we have the opportunity to enlighten our students about what is occurring within the liminal space and encourage them to embrace their own learning adventure.
